WHALC (Weatherization Training) is BPI’s entry level certification for becoming an  accredited trade professional. Green Collar Crew (GCC) is committed to helping you pass the required field examination in your first attempt. Let us know if you’re interested in us coming to your city if you don’t see it listed. We will add locations if there is a large enough demand. We reserve the right to reschedule courses at our discretion including sessions that don’t meet the minimum attendance requirements.

 

 

 

IMPORTANT: Field Exams are administered one-on-one with the course instructor and are scheduled in the order you registered. Those who register first will be scheduled for Friday afternoon while later registrations may be scheduled for Saturday morning. Classes begin at 8am with a 45 minute lunch break unless otherwise noted.

 

Class schedule is as follows:

 

Day 1:  1/2 day Classroom Instruction & 1/2 day hands-on lab

Day 2:  1/2 day Classroom Instruction & 1/2 day hands-on lab

Day 3: 1/2 day Classroom Instruction and Hands-on lab

Day 3: 1/2 day Verbal Exams (scheduled one-on-one in 1 hr time slots)

Day 4: Verbal Exams (scheduled one-on-one in 1 hr time slots)

 

The cost of the training course and all included materials is $1,495 if you register by the Monday one week prior to the start of the course (the cost then becomes $1,595).

 

Large classes may have exams on Saturday if needed for overflow. REMEMBER! Avoid having a Saturday Exam by registering early!

If emailing or leaving a message, please provide your name, phone number and email, as well as the course name, location and date. We will soon be adding online payment to this website.

 

 

Our courses include study guide, sample written questions and field worksheets. During your course, we will provide, demonstrate and instruct you on all the necessary tools and materials for certification including: automatic blower doors, static pressure test kits, combustion analyzers, moisture meters, IR thermometers,  gas leak detectors, insulation blowers and props for training. If appropriate, we can then recommend to you resources where you can purchase your own equipment.

 

 

A basic calculator and a pencil/pen for written exam day.

 

 

If after successfully completing our course you are unable to pass the corresponding exam, you will be afforded the opportunity to repeat the course and no cost. You will however be responsible for any additional exam fees associated with retaking the test.

 

 

Course registration can be cancelled up to two weeks prior to the start date with a full refund.  Failure to attend the course without prior cancellation will receive no refund. You have the option to reschedule for a course at a later date for a $100 transfer fee but no refund will be issued for rescheduled courses. Substitute participants are allowed with prior notice.

 

Field tests are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact us if you need to reschedule your field test and we’ll make our best effort to accommodate.
