Our Commitment
GCC is committed to helping you make your home more energy efficient, healthy & safe, comfortable, durable and environmentally responsible. While we recommend our Comprehensive Home Energy & Health Audit or Consultation, we understand that some of you may want to tackle this project on our own. Your first step to creating your high performance home will be to perform your own energy audit. How though will you learn how to do this? There is an overwhelming amount of information now available to homeowners that my often confuse you more than help you. Green Collar Crew is here to help.
Free D-I-Y Home Energy & Health Audit Workshop
We are planning several free Do-it-Yourself Home Energy & Health Audit Workshops in the Charlotte, NC and the Seattle, WA regions. One of our Building Science Specialists will offer you training on basic home performance and a step-by-step process for auditing your home. If you choose to perform your own audit, our Specialist can provide you with our D-I-Y Home Energy & Health Audit Kit which includes an audit worksheet, booklet and GCC clipboard. We ask that you offer at least a $15 tax deductible contribution for this kit. 100% of the proceeds will go to fund our Green Collar Energy Campaign.
Next Steps
Following your training, you may either perform your own audit or request a GCC Auditor to perform our Comprehensive Audit or Consultation for you. Even if you choose not to perform your own audit, you will have gained valuable information on how your home works as a system and what you should do to improve your home's energy efficiency and ensure occupant safety and health.
Once you or GCC completes your Audit, call the Green Collar Crew to help you develop a retrofitting strategy and action plan. You may choose either our Full Crew or Crew Referral programs.
