After graduating from Auburn University with a B.S. degree in Building Science, Scott built homes for several respected companies in the Southeast before settling in Charlotte, North Carolina to create a custom home building company. After building energy efficient homes he recognized the tremendous value of energy efficient and green building and decided to stop building homes to help home builders and homeowners build and retrofit homes to be more energy efficient, healthy, comfortable, durable and environmentally responsible. His company was awarded the prestigious Energy Star Partner of the Year as recognition for its accomplishments. Scott also received a M.A. degree in Ethics and continued his studies with post graduate courses in environmental science and public policy.
